National Faculty Responsibilities:
Know the course materials, practice with the slides prior to teaching.
Confirm everyone registered for the course meets eligibility.
Instructor course pre-requisites:
Burn Care Professional with a minimum of 3 years of current experience working in a burn center. A burn care professional is an individual that holds a clinical degree, e.g. physician, nurse, advanced practice professional (PA, NP), OT, PT, or paramedic and works in burn care. Paramedics are required to be affiliated with an ABA Burn Center through regular participation in burn center programing or education.
ABLS Certified for a minimum of one (1) year. (Must have completed the ABLS Live course no less than 12 months prior to the Instructor Course). ABLS NOW© Certification is not sufficient to become an instructor.

Know your audience - pay special attention to the disciplines of the attendees.
Follow the agenda to ensure the course sticks to the 4-hour timeline.
Get participants engaged in the course. Participants should ask questions and participate in activities readily.
Give actionable feedback to the participants, provide constructive feedback they can use to improve instructor skills.
Represent the ABA and the ABLS program in a positive way. Create a welcoming learning environment.
ABA Staff will:
Create a query for the National Faculty member to receive updates on who is registered for the course.
Assign chapter slides, case studies and patient simulations to participants two weeks before the course.
Print onsite course materials.

About the ABA one pager.
After the course:
ABA will email the course evaluation out to the participants. Along with the link to customer service portal. Participants can use this as a resource to find additional information about the instructor certification process.
National Faculty should email their reimbursement documents to ABA central office staff. List all expenses including the $500 honorarium on the miscellaneous line.
