The ABA’s Verification Program uses a module within the ABA’s Burn Care Quality Platform (BCQP) to acquire and store the vital information needed for the verification site reviewers to conduct a thorough review of a burn center. BCQP is a secure platform that ensures the safety and confidentiality of sensitive documents and information. It is imperative that all information and documents are submitted through this platform both for security and to track all of the information in one place.
You should review all of the information about the timelines, platform and process before you begin. However, below are a few crucial notes to keep in mind. If these are not followed, it may result in significant additional work for the burn center to address the issues.
Make sure the type of verification is correct before you enter any information in the PRQ
When you complete the application process in the ABA system at members.ameriburn.org you will have the option to enter the type of verification. ABA staff will complete this field in the PRQ based on your response, but you need to double check to make sure this is correct because this field determines what questions appear in the PRQ. If it is changed after you start entering data, your data may disappear and need to be reentered from scratch.
Do not click final submit until you are really, really, REALLY sure you are done.
You will see this box and have to mark both items and click submit. Once you submit, all sections and components of the PRQ, including case summaries, files, and tables will be completely locked. No edits can be made after the PRQ is submitted. If you’ve asked for an extension on part of the PRQ, do not click submit until all of your information is included. This ensures that reviewers are looking at final information and nothing is changed after they begin their review.
Complete Meetings & Rounds
As soon as you submit the PRQ, the Meetings & Rounds box will appear and can be located on your verification landing page next to the PRQ icon. You can begin entering information at any time.
After the site review has concluded, on the BCQP Verification Module, burn centers are responsible for:
Documenting the attendance of the executive and introductory meetings
Entering the cases from clinical rounds during the site visit
This is not a task that site reviewers can complete. It is crucial that this be done within the week after the site review to not delay the evaluation of the verification site report.
Attendee names must be entered one by one before you hit submit. A downloaded list does not populate onto the summary report.
