This article outlines the process to become certified as an ABLS Instructor.

Certification Process

After successful completion of the ABLS Instructor course, you are considered an instructor candidate. The credit hours from the course can be found on your transcript under Account > Education Credits > Download Transcript.

You must be observed twice by ABLS National Faculty while teaching all three components of the course (lecture, case study, and patient simulation) on separate dates all within one year of completion of the instructor course.

The ABA will be looking to see instruction progress that takes into account the feedback given in the original observation.

Complete the instructor certification application. You can find this on the left side of your ABA account under the ABLS > ABLS Instructor Certification. Both observations will need to be uploaded along with your ABLS instructor transcript or confirmation email.

Both observations should be compiled into one PDF file.

Once your application is approved, your instructor certification will be added to your ABA member profile. You will also gain access to the instructor community in myAmeriburn.
